Synopsis

Family Matters

Hannah a teenager girl has problems trying to deal with her overbearing parents.  She feels like she doesn’t get to choose what she wants to do with her free time.  Hannah wants to play soccer but her parents believe it is a waste of time and she needs to be playing the piano and focused completely on that.  She loves playing soccer with her friends but she doesn’t have the courage to tell her parents because they will not agree with her decision to not play the piano.

She then starts to turn to alternatives to help her with her school work and her parents begin to think that she is having serious problems in her life when she is really just trying to cope with the stress that they cause her.  She must continually choose between her parents and her friends because she doesn’t know which to do because she feels that anything she does that there is a possibility that she could get in trouble anyways.

This is an exciting play showing how some children have to deal with parents that try and live their life for them and how they deal with it.  It is a lesson to some parents and also to the kids to stand up and choose what they want to do and what they have dreams of rather than just to do whatever there parents tell them to do.
